Getting started
Where does Just Living provide support?
We provide NDIS support across metropolitan Adelaide. Contact the team to talk about your suburb, the services you are looking for and current availability.
Can I contact you before making a referral?
Yes. Call 1300 100 230 or email admin@justliving.net.au to talk through your situation and ask questions before completing a referral.
How quickly can support be arranged?
It depends on what you need, but we aim to be responsive. If you are looking for support urgently, whether that is one worker or a full team, tell us when you get in touch.
We start with a proper conversation to understand what you are after, then put a plan in place with clear next steps. If you are moving from another provider or coming out of hospital, we can support you through that process, including temporary accommodation if needed.
We keep communication clear from the start, give you a realistic timeframe and keep things moving.
What if I need more than one type of support?
Tell us about the different parts of your day and the support you are looking for. We can talk through suitable services together, including home life, community participation, accommodation and more complex needs.
Your support team
What makes your support team different from other providers?
We do not just fill shifts. We build teams around each person. That means looking beyond availability and making sure your support workers suit your needs, routines and preferences.
We consider behavioural compatibility, clinical requirements and personal preferences when selecting staff, and we give you worker profiles so you know who is coming and why. Our team is trained specifically around your needs, not handed generic paperwork.
How are support workers matched to me?
We consider your needs, preferences and routines when matching your team. Staff profiles are shared before services begin, and training is shaped around your individual support requirements.
Can I be involved in choosing my support workers?
Yes, and we encourage it. You can review support worker profiles before anyone starts, so you can get a feel for who might be the right fit.
If there is someone you would prefer not to work with, we will listen and act on it. We aim to build a small, consistent team around you, not a revolving door of unfamiliar faces.
Can you support people who do not speak English as a first language?
We support participants from many cultural backgrounds and aim to make communication as clear and respectful as possible. If English is not your first language, let us know and we will do our best to match you with someone who understands your preferences and can communicate clearly.
We may not always have a direct language match available, but we can explore options such as interpreters or translated materials where needed.
Complex care and changes
How do you manage complex care or high-intensity needs?
High-intensity support is delivered by staff who are specifically trained for the needs of each person, whether that is PEG feeding, catheter care, complex bowel care or severe dysphagia. The team supporting you receives practical training and understands your situation well before stepping in.
Your care is documented clearly, so every team member knows what is expected and how to provide it. If your needs change, we reassess the plan with you and adjust the support.
What if my situation changes after support has started?
Changes are part of life and we are set up to adapt when they happen. We will not make you go through the whole process again. We revisit your goals and support requirements with you and adjust your team or plan to suit. That could mean more hours, different types of support, or a change in how your support is delivered.
Because we employ our own teams, we can usually make changes quickly and with minimal disruption.
Family, guardians and coordinators
How involved can families or guardians be?
Families, guardians and other key people are welcome to be as involved as you want them to be. Some participants prefer to make decisions independently, while others appreciate having family involved in planning or communication.
If you want your family involved, we keep them updated, include them in meetings and make sure they have the right information, without speaking for you or over you. If certain boundaries are important to you, we respect that and follow your lead.
Can my support coordinator be involved?
Yes. With your consent, the people you choose can be involved in discussing your needs, exploring services and planning the next steps. Coordinators can also send us a referral directly.
Housing
How do I find out about housing vacancies?
See our current vacancies or speak with the team. We will talk through availability, your preferred location, accessibility and support requirements before exploring a suitable option.
What kinds of accommodation do you offer?
Our options include Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) and short-term or respite stays (STA), in both owned and rental properties. Availability and suitability are confirmed with our team. Read about housing and accommodation.
Feedback
How do I give feedback or make a complaint?
Use our feedback form, call 1300 100 230 or email admin@justliving.net.au. You can stay anonymous. You can also contact the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission on 1800 035 544.
